The Nomadic Maker is a small mixed media hand embroidery studio and can be found in the stunning countryside of Shropshire in the UK, however this is only part of the story. A lot of the inspiration for her works and indeed the work itself is created whilst travelling in her motorhome called Martha.

Claire Edwards is a multi-award winning mixed media hand embroidery designer and educator who specialises in creating pieces of art that pushes the boundaries of traditional hand embroidery. Her intricate designs are created using goldwork, bead embroidery and tambour beading techniques and are often combined with non-conventional materials such as resin, concrete and wood. These artworks are suitable for both the fashion and interiors market.

Formally educated, Claire has a First Class BA (Hons) in Textile Surface Design and has recently been awarded a Master of Arts in Contemporary Embroidery (Distinction)
